CIDCA vice-chairman meets with head of Colombian Department of Social Prosperity

On Oct 26, 2023, Zhong Haidong, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Laura Sarabia, director-general of the Department of Social Prosperity of Colombia.

Zhong affirmed the steady development of bilateral ties between China and Colombia since the establishment of diplomatic relations 43 years ago.The top leaders of China and Colombia recently upgraded the relationsbetween the two countries to a strategic partnership, injecting new impetus into the development of China-Colombia relations, he said, adding that China is ready to deepen cooperation with Colombia and strive for more fruitful resultsthat will benefit the people of both countries.

Sarabia thanked China for its valuable support in the socioeconomic development of Colombia and the improvement of the people's livelihoods. Colombia is ready to work closely with China and strengthen cooperation in such areas as poverty reduction, technical assistance and human resource development, in a bid to jointly promote thecontinuous development of bilateral ties.

The two sides also held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation projects. Cai Fang, deputy director-general of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs, also attended the meeting.
