CIDCA chairman meets with new ambassador of Belarus to China

On Dec 26, 2023, Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with newly-inaugurated Ambassador of Belarus to China Charviakou Aliaksandr.

Luo congratulated Charviakou on his inauguration to the post and said that China and Belarus are all weather comprehensive strategic partners that enjoy true friendship and partnership. The two heads of state have met twice this year, reaching important consensus and charting the course for the future development of bilateral ties. China is ready to work with Belarus to jointly implement the consensus reached between the two heads of state, and actively expand pragmatic cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative frameworks, in a bid to yield more practical results in bilateral development cooperation to benefit both countries and their people, he said.

Charviakou extended his appreciation to China for its long-term support and assistance to the socioeconomic development and improvement of people’s livelihoods in his country, and lauded the important role played by the CIDCA. Noting that he has had good relations with the CIDCA since he was the minister of economy of his country, he pledged to work closely with the Chinese side to carry out high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and GDI implementation under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, in a bid to elevate the China-Belarus relations to a higher level.

The two sides also held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation matters. Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation Xu Wei and Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Wang Daohao also attended the meeting.
