On Jan 5, 2024, Liu Junfeng, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), co-chaired a video meeting on China-Honduras development cooperation, together with Warren Ochoa, head of the Honduran Social Investment Fund.
Liu said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Honduras have actively implemented the key consensus reached between the two heads of state, promoted pragmatic cooperation in various fields and yielded preliminary results. China is ready to give priority to development cooperation projects in the field of education in light of Honduras' needs, support the economic and social development and the improvement of people's livelihoods in the country, and promote the early implementation of Global Development Initiative in Honduras, Liu said.
Ochoa said that the consensus between the two heads of state has charted the direction for cooperation in various fields. Honduras needs China's support in its economic and social development, he said, adding that his country is ready to work closely with China for more outcomes in their development cooperation and deliver benefits to the two countries and their people.
The two sides also held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation matters. Chinese Ambassador to Honduras Yu Bo, and related personnel from China's Foreign Ministry and the CIDCA, as well as Honduras' President Office, Foreign Ministry and Education Ministry attended the meeting.
