CIDCA chairman meets with minister of investment, industry and trade of Uzbekistan

On Jan 12, 2024, Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov.

Luo said that China and Uzbekistan enjoy a comprehensive strategic partnership and that the multiple meetings between the two heads of state in recent years have charted the direction for the development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Uzbekistan to jointly implement the key consensus reached between the two heads of state, advance the Belt and Road cooperation and implement the Global Development Initiative (GDI) in order to achieve more pragmatic cooperative results that will improve the people's wellbeing, he added.

Noting that China is Uzbekistan's important strategic cooperation partner, Kudratov thanked China for its long-term support and assistance to the economic and social development and the improvement of the people's livelihoods in his country, and lauded the CIDCA's important role in this regard. He raised his hope to work closely with China for the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and implementation of the GDI under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, so as to elevate Uzbekistan-China relations to a higher level.

The two sides also held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation projects. Officials from the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs and Department of International Cooperation, and commercial counselor of Uzbekistan embassy in China also attended the meeting.
