On Jan 12, 2024, the launch ceremony of the China-aided vocational skill training center in Angola was held in Huambo province. Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Angola Chen Feng attended and addressed the ceremony. Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and key members of the Angolan government also attended the event.
In her address, Chen said that China has always attached great importance to capacity building in Africa, and the three proposals to assist in Africa’s modernization proposed by China last year include the Plan for China-Africa Cooperation on Talent Development, which will provide stronger human resource support for Angola's independent and sustainable development. Noting that the day marked the 41st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Angola, Chen expressed her belief that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the two countries will continue to strengthen cooperation in various fields and serve as a role model for the joint building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
On behalf of the Angolan government, Minister of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security of Angola Teresa Dias extended her appreciation to the Chinese government for its generous assistance. She said that the project meets the urgent needs of her country, and will incubate high-quality talents to boost the comprehensive economic and social development of Angola.
