CIDCA chairman meets with prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda

On Jan 23, 2024, Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with visiting Prime Minister of Antigua and BarbudaGaston Browne, upon invitation.

Luo said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties 41 years ago, China and Antigua and Barbuda have always treated each other equally and supported each other, yielding positive results in pragmatic cooperation. China is ready to strengthen cooperation with Antigua and Barbuda, carry out high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and advance the implementation of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), in a bid to better benefit the people of both countries, he added.

Browne extended his appreciation to the Chinese government and people for their long-term support to the social and economic development of his country. Antigua and Barbuda has always firmly adhered to the one-China principle and participated in the Belt and Road cooperation and the GDI's implementation, he said, expressing his hope to strengthen cooperation with China to solidify and develop bilateral ties.

Also present at the meeting were Antigua and Barbuda's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Trade and Barbuda Affairs Everly Paul Chet Greene, Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment Molwyn Joseph, Antigua and Barbuda's Ambassador to China Brian Stuart Young, Chinese Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda Zhang Yanling, Vice-Chairman of the CIDCA Zhao Fengtao, and heads of the CIDCA's related departments.
