CIDCA official attends NDB knowledge-sharing seminar 

On Feb 1, 2024, Tian Lin, director-general of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA)'s Department of Supervision and Evaluation, attended a knowledge-sharing seminar hosted by the New Development Bank (NDB) and delivered opening remarks. 

The seminar focused on the independent evaluation of the Luoyang Metro project, the first NDB-financed Chinese project, with representatives from central and local government departments, international organizations, think tanks, and businesses attending both on site and online.

Tian said that the construction of transportation infrastructure is crucial for national economic development and also one of the eight key fields of the China-proposed Global Development Initiative (GDI). 

In recent years, China has continued to increase investment and diversify the contents of infrastructure development in its foreign assistance, aiming to improve the people's livelihoods and enhance capacity development, injecting vitality into its traditional foreign assistance models, he noted. 

Noting that supervision and evaluation are key to achieving high-quality international development cooperation, Tian said that since its establishment, the CIDCA has continuously enriched its policies and theories, gradually improved the evaluation index system, carried out innovative practices, widely promoted exchanges and cooperation, and established a preliminary supervision and evaluation system with Chinese characteristics.

China is willing to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, promote global infrastructure construction, implement the GDI with all parties, and make unremitting efforts to achieve the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and build a community with a shared future for mankind, Tian said.
