On Feb 21, 2024, Zhao Fengtao, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Lin Jianhai, executive vice-president of the International Finance Forum (IFF).
Zhao said that the Global Development Initiative (GDI) is a public good and cooperation platform for the international community provided by China, and is open to all countries and international organizations. He raised his hope that the IFF could tap its experience advantages and role in global financial governance and global development financing to jointly promote the implementation of the GDI and the realization of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Lin said that the IFF, as an independent, non-governmental and international cooperation dialogue mechanism and global network, is willing to integrate into the development cooperation system, and establish close cooperation with the CIDCA under the GDI framework in such areas as development financing, green finance, the digital economy, and human resource development, in a bid to contribute more to global development.
The two sides also exchanged views on specific cooperation intentions. Deputy head of the CIDCA’s Global Development Promotion Center Lei Pili and Zhang Jizhong, founding secretary general and former chief executive officer of the IFF, also attended the meeting.
