To help ease the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, the Chinese government is intensifying efforts to provide food assistance to the region. Chinese aid of 450 tons of rice will arrive at Egypt's Port Said on March 28 and then be transported to the Strip through the Rafah crossing.
Since the outbreak of the current Palestinian-Israeli conflict, China has continued to provide assistance within its capacity to the Palestinian Gaza Strip. So far, China has offered cash assistance, and provided two shipments of emergency humanitarian aid supplies including food, medicine and medical supplies through Egypt.
