CIDCA chairman meets with minister of investment, entrepreneurship and industry of Seychelles

On March 24, 2024, Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with visiting Minister of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry of Seychelles Devika Vidot.

Luo welcomed Vidot on her second visit to China and said that China and Seychelles have maintained the healthy and steady development of bilateral relations and yielded fruitful results in development assistance and cooperation. China is ready to deepen pragmatic cooperation with Seychelles in such areas as infrastructure, the blue economy, green development, disaster prevention and reduction, healthcare and tourism, as well as carry out high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, jointly implement the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and assist in the economic and social development of Seychelles, he added.

Vidot thanked China for its long-term assistance to her country's economic and social development and the improvement of the people's livelihoods. She pledged full support to and active participation in the Belt and Road cooperation and the GDI, and raised her hope for closer cooperation in areas including the blue economy to achieve more results.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation projects. Vice-Chairman of the CIDCA Liu Junfeng, Director-General of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs Bai Bin, and Ambassador of Seychelles to China Anne Lafortune also attended the meeting.
