From March 26 to 30, 2024, Yang Weiqun, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), led a delegation to visit Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
In Vietnam, Yang held talks with Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Do Thanh Trung and met with Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Health Le Duc Luan.
In Cambodia, he paid an official call to Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth, and held a preparatory meeting with Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance Ros Seilava of Cambodia on the China-Cambodia development cooperation dialogue mechanism.
In Laos, he paid an official call to Lao Minister of Planning and Investment and Chairman of the Laos-China Cooperation Committee Khamchen Vongphosy. He held talks with Deputy Chief Cabinet of the Laos-China Cooperation Committee Office Sisoulad Ladsasisine on implementing the key consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, held in-depth exchanges on promoting bilateral development cooperation and on specific projects, and signed related cooperation documents.
The delegation also conducted on-site inspections of some local assistance projects during the stay, held symposiums in Cambodia and Laos with local Chinese foreign-aid enterprises to solicit opinions and suggestions.
