CIDCA chairman meets with new permanent representative of China to UN

On April 12, 2024, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Luo Zhaohui met with the newly-appointed Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Fu Cong.

Luo congratulated Fu on his inauguration of the new post and said that the CIDCA is fully committed to implementing the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and the upgrading of China's traditional foreign assistance and international development cooperation to a higher level.

This year, the CIDCA will continue to host a series of events under the GDI framework, such as the high-level conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development and the China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Blue Economy Cooperation, he said, raising his hope for strengthened cooperation and coordination with the Permanent Mission of China to the UN, to lead international governance on development cooperation.

Fu said that the Chinese mission will strive to do a good job in such work as building the GDI Group of Friends, and pledged full support for the implementation of the GDI.

Vice-Chairman of the CIDCA Zhao Fengtao, head of the CIDCA's Global Development Promotion Center Tang Ying, and Acting Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation Li Ming also attended the meeting.
