On April 12, 2024, witnessed by the heads of state of China and the Republic of Suriname, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency Luo Zhaohui signed bilateral cooperation documents with Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation of Suriname Albert Ramchand Ramdin.
The documents include an economic and technical cooperation agreement, a memorandum of understanding on jointly implementing the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and an exchange of notes on the ambulance project feasibility study.
The two sides agreed to actively expand cooperation under the GDI framework, focusing on such areas as agriculture, poverty reduction, food security, infrastructure, medical health, and human resource development, strengthening policy communication and exploring cooperation projects.
