CIDCA chairman meets with minister of foreign affairs, international cooperation and diaspora of Equatorial Guinea

On May 27, 2024, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Luo Zhaohui met with Simeon Oyono Esono Angue, minister of foreign affairs, international cooperation and diaspora of Equatorial Guinea, in Beijing. They held in-depth exchanges on bilateral relations and development cooperation.

Luo emphasized that Equatorial Guinea is an important cooperation partner of China. In recent years, the two countries have adhered to mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation, gaining deeper political mutual trust and seeing positive outcomes in practical cooperation under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, Luo said.

China is willing to strengthen policy communication with Equatorial Guinea, jointly implement bilateral cooperation projects, actively expand cooperation under the framework of the Global Development Initiative and push for the continuous development of the comprehensive cooperative partnership between the two countries, he said.

Oyono thanked China for its longstanding support to his country's socioeconomic development. He said that China is the most reliable partner of Equatorial Guinea, and pledged readiness to actively work with China, learn more from China's development experience to help Equatorial Guinea diversify its economy, and continuously strengthen cooperation in such fields as infrastructure, energy, agriculture, health care, and marine fisheries.

The two sides also held in-depth exchanges on specific development assistance projects.
