CIDCA chairman meets with foreign minister of Cuba

On June 5, 2024, Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuban president's special envoy and foreign minister, who is on a visit to China.

Luo said that China and Cuba are good friends, good comrades and good brothers. In August last year, the leaders of the two countries announced their commitment to jointly building a China-Cuba community with a shared future, charting the course for development of bilateral relations, Luo noted. China actively supports the stability and development of Cuba, and is willing to strengthen communication with the Cuban side to expand cooperation under the framework of the Global Development Initiative, push for more fruitful outcomes in bilateral development cooperation and achieve common development, he said.

Rodríguez said that Cuba and China enjoy a profound traditional friendship and have always cooperated with each other on international and regional issues. The Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban government and people sincerely appreciate China's strong support over the years, especially its recent efforts to help Cuba overcome food and energy difficulties, and are willing to work with China to strengthen cooperation in agriculture and energy, in a bid to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations, he said.

The two sides exchanged views on specific development assistance and cooperation projects.
