On July 10, 2024, witnessed by the leaders of China and Guinea-Bissau, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency Luo Zhaohui has signed a series of cooperation agreements with Bissau-Guinean Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Integration Soares Sambú, Minister of Public Works, Housing and Urban Planning Fidelis Forbs and Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities Carlos Pinto Pereira.
The agreements include one on economic and technological cooperation and a memorandum of understanding on the implementation of the Global Development Initiative (GDI). A number of documents on bilateral cooperation projects were also signed.
The two sides agreed to actively expand cooperation under the GDI framework, strengthen policy dialogue and explore cooperation projects focusing on the areas of poverty alleviation, food security, infrastructure, medicine and healthcare, green development and human resources development.
