CIDCA chairman meets with Egypt’s minister of planning, economic development and intl cooperation

On July 12, 2024, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Luo Zhaohui met with Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation of Egypt Rania AI-Mashat, who was in Beijing to attend the second high-level conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development.

Luo congratulated Rania on her inauguration to the new post, and thanked her for attending the forum and delivering a keynote speech at the sub-forum on promoting the modernization of the Global South. Acknowledging the fruitful cooperation results between China and Egypt in recent years, Luo said that China is ready to work with Egypt to jointly implement the key consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, expand cooperation in such areas as green development, medical care, inter-connectivity, human resources development, and desertification prevention and control, accelerate cooperation on the "debt-for-development" swap, and promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) to continuously enrich the bilateral strategic partnership.

Rania extended her appreciation to China for its long-term support and assistance to the economic and social development of Egypt. She reiterated that Egypt is willing to actively participate in and support the GDI and implement the strategic consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, deepening cooperation in various fields to achieve common development.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation projects and signed related development cooperation documents.
