Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Luo Zhaohui met with Lesotho's Minister of Finance and Development Planning Retselisitsoe Matlanyane on July 13.
Matlanyane was in Beijing to attend the second high-level conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development. The CIDCA's Vice-Chairman Liu Junfeng and Director-General of the Second Department of Regional Affairs Bai Bin also attended the meeting.
Luo said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state of the two countries, China-Lesotho relations have developed rapidly with greater mutual trust and fruitful results in various areas, setting a good example for friendly coexistence and common development between countries large and small. China is willing to work with Lesotho to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen development cooperation under the framework of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and push bilateral relations to a new level, he added.
Matlanyane called China Lesotho's most trustworthy friend and said the Lesotho government and people sincerely appreciate China's support for the country's economic and social development and improvement of people's livelihoods. Lesotho will firmly abide by the one-China principle, actively support and participate in the GDI, strengthen bilateral cooperation in such areas as energy, infrastructure, agriculture and human resources, and promote common development, she added.
