CIDCA chairman meets with Cuba’s deputy prime minister

Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Luo Zhaohui met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca on July 13. Tapia was in Beijing to attend the second high-level conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development. 

Luo said that, in recent years, the leaders of the two countries have maintained close relations and reached an important consensus in building a China-Cuba community with a shared future. The two sides have worked closely to implement assistance measures to Cuba and achieved positive results. China is ready to join hands with Cuba in implementing the key consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, further strengthen cooperation under the framework of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and push for more cooperation to benefit the people of both countries and promote continued development of bilateral relations, he added. 

Tapia congratulated China on the success of the action forum and pledged to jointly implement the GDI to facilitate the fast recovery and development of Cuba's economy. He also thanked China for its valuable emergency support to Cuba and said the Cuban government hopes to learn from China's experience in agricultural development.
