Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), held talks with Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov on development assistance and the Global Development Initiative (GDI) in Minsk on Aug 14.
Snopkov welcomed Luo to Minsk and said that Belarus attaches great importance to developing ties with China and regards China as its most important cooperation partner. Last year, the heads of state of the two countries elevated their bilateral relations into an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership, he said, adding that the two sides will continue to implement the consensus reached between the heads of state based on the existing fruitful cooperation outcomes, advance more pragmatic cooperation and accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects.
Luo said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China and Belarus have established an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership. Pointing out that developing assistance cooperation is a major demonstration of the high-level China-Belarus relations, he called for more pragmatic cooperation focusing on the implementation of the consensus between the two heads of state, carrying out Belt and Road cooperation with high quality and the China-Belarus Industrial Park, and carrying out more "small-yet-smart" projects under the GDI framework. Efforts will also be made to strengthen exchanges on state governance experience and cooperation in human resources development to continuously enrich the bilateral partnership, he added.
The two sides also held in-depth discussions on specific cooperation projects. At the end of the meeting, Luo signed a number of cooperation documents with Belarusian Minister of Economy Yuri Chebotar.
Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong, Director-General of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Shou Hailong, and Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation Guan Zhiyong also attended the meeting.
During his visit to Belarus, Luo also conducted field surveys to China-aided projects that included the international standard swimming complex, the full cycle agro-industrial complex and the China-Belarus Industrial Park.
