Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Luo Zhaohui met with Prime Minister of Tunisia Kamel Madouri in Beijing on Sept 4.
Madouri is in Beijing to attend the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Luo said that China-Tunisia relations have maintained healthy and steady development since the establishment of diplomatic ties 60 years ago. In May this year, the heads of state of the two countries announced the establishment of the China-Tunisia strategic partnership during Tunisian President Kais Saied’s state visit to China, which charted a new course for bilateral friendly relations and cooperation, Luo noted. Madouri thanked China for its long-term support and assistance to his country's socioeconomic development and improvement in people's living standards. Tunisia looks forward to expanding cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, health and transportation, to enrich and inject impetus into the Tunisia-China strategic partnership, he said.
The two sides also discussed specific cooperation projects. Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Mohamed Ali Al Nafti, Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy Fatma Thabet Chiboub, and Tunisian Ambassador to China Adel Elarbi, as well as Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia Wan Li, Director-General of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Shou Hailong, and Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation Li Ming, also attended the meeting.
