Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Luo Zhaohui met with Prime Minister of Burkina Faso Apollinaire Joachim Kyélem de Tambèla on Sept 6.
Kyélem de Tambèla is in Beijing to attend the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
Luo said that the FOCAC 2024 Summit concluded successfully as leaders of China and African countries jointly painted the blueprint for China-Africa cooperation in the new era and decided to work together to advance modernization and build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era, setting a new milestone in the history of China-Africa relations. The summit yielded fruitful results, which saw the Beijing Declaration and an action plan of the FOCAC for the next three years adopted, and a joint statement released on deepening cooperation between China and Africa within the framework of the Global Development Initiative, Luo added.
He thanked Burkina Faso and the prime minister for their contribution towards the success of the summit, and said that China is ready to work with Burkina Faso to jointly implement the consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, actively expand communication and cooperation in development and assistance fields to achieve common development.
Kyélem de Tambèla extended congratulations to China on the success of the summit, saying that he was much inspired by the pragmatic measures announced by China such as the 10 partnership actions.
"Only China possesses such a mindset, and only China wields such influence", he said.
Kyélem de Tambèla thanked China for its long-term support for the economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods in his country, and expressed sincere admiration for China's significant development achievements. He said he hopes the summit would serve as an opportunity to push for the greater development of Burkina Faso-China and Africa-China relations, and expand cooperation in such fields as infrastructure, green development, medical and health care, and education and training, to inject new impetus into the strategic partnership between Burkina Faso and China and set a good example of South-South cooperation.
The two sides also discussed specific assistance projects.
