Liu Junfeng, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), addressed the opening ceremony of the 2024 China-Africa Industrial Cooperation Conference in Beijing on Sept 7.
In his address, Liu introduced how China intends to follow up on the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and pursue the implementation of the Global Development Initiative (GDI). He said that the FOCAC Summit charted a direction for China and Africa to jointly advance modernization, and he hoped that both sides will implement the outcomes of the summit, along with the GDI, and carry on signature projects and "small yet smart" livelihood projects in a coordinated manner. He called on Chinese enterprises in Africa to fulfill their social responsibilities, carry out the "100 Enterprises and 1,000 Villages" program, and contribute to the building of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
Themed on sharing opportunities for modernization, the conference was hosted by the Alliance of Chinese Business in Africa for Social Responsibilities. The "100 Enterprises and 1,000 Villages" Blue Book on Win-Win Cooperation and Common Development was released at the conference, as well as an initiative to promote China-Africa cooperation on "small yet smart" livelihood projects.
