Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobayev in Beijing on Sept 19.
Luo said that, under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of both countries, China-Kyrgyzstan relations have been elevated to comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, constantly yielding new fruits in the pragmatic cooperation in various fields. China stands ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, continue to promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and implementation of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and enrich the connotation of the strategic partnership between the two countries with more practical results in development assistance, he added.
Torobayev said that, thanks to the personal attention of the two heads of state, Kyrgyzstan-China relations have opened a new chapter, charting the course for bilateral cooperation in various fields. He thanked China for its long-term support for Kyrgyzstan's economic and social development and improvement in people's standards of living, and spoke highly of the CIDCA’s work in that regard. He also pledged to work with the CIDCA to jointly implement the consensus reached between the two heads of state, and further improve the efficiency and quality of bilateral cooperation in order to bring tangible benefits to the Kyrgyz people.
The two sides discussed specific cooperation projects and signed related agreements.
Vice-Chairman of the CIDCA Yang Weiqun, directors-general of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Shou Hailong and the Department of International Cooperation Li Ming, along with the ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to China and other ministerial officials from Kyrgyzstan, attended the meeting.
