CIDCA vice-chairman meets with Uzbek deputy minister of finance

Zhao Fengtao, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met on Sept 25 with Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Fozilkarimov Otabek Rustamovich on the sidelines of the 9th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Also attending the meeting were representatives of Uzbek participants in China-aided training programs.

Zhao said that under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of the two countries, the China-Uzbekistan all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership has continued to develop, yielding fruitful cooperation results. He said that China attaches great importance to developing relations with Uzbekistan and is willing to continue deepening cooperation on human resources development, strengthening alignment of development strategies and exchanges on state governance experience, expanding cooperation areas and diversifying cooperation methods. This would help Uzbekistan foster talents in various fields and enhance self-development capabilities, as well as promote cultural mutual learning, making new contributions to the bilateral relations, he added.

Rustamovich said that China's human resources development project in Uzbekistan plays a fundamental role in consolidating the talent foundation for the country's economic and social development. He expressed sincere appreciation to China for providing the learning opportunities to the Uzbek trainees, and pledged to earnestly implement the consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries and strengthen alignment of development strategies. He also raised his hope for enhancing cooperation in human resources development in such areas as public-private partnerships, green economy, social security, education and healthcare, where they could learn more from China's development experience.

The trainee representatives recalled their experiences of participating in the training programs in China on poverty reduction and South-South cooperation. They spoke highly of the arrangements for teaching and visiting activities and said they had gained a lot from the training programs and are willing to apply what they had learned to their actual work and contribute to promoting friendly bilateral cooperation.
