CIDCA chairman meets with deputy prime minister of Nepal

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met in Beijing on Sept 26 with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Nepal Bishnu Prasad Paudel, who was in China to attend the Global Sustainable Transport Forum 2024.

Luo said that China and Nepal as neighboring countries have enjoyed traditional friendship. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, the bilateral pragmatic cooperation has yielded fruitful results, he said.

He added that China is willing to work with Nepal to jointly implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, to continue to advance Belt and Road cooperation with high standard and implement the Global Development Initiative, to build the Trans-Himalayan Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Network, and to advance major landmark projects as well as small-yet-smart projects in a coordinated manner, so as to elevate the bilateral strategic cooperative partnership for development and prosperity to a higher level.

Paudel thanked China for its long-term support for the economic and social development and improvement of people’s living standard in his country. He said that Nepal attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is willing to work with China to jointly implement the consensus reached between the leaders of both countries, continuously deepen mutually-beneficial cooperation, and inject new impetus into bilateral friendly relations.

The two sides also had detailed discussions on specific cooperation projects. CIDCA Vice-Chairman Yang Weiqun, Director-General of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Shou Hailong and Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation Li Ming also attended the meeting.
