CIDCA vice-chairman meets with executive VP of World Bank

Zhao Fengtao, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Zhang Wencai, executive vice-president and chief administrative officer of the World Bank (WB), on the sidelines of the 9th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on Sept 26. 

Zhao elaborated on the details of China's foreign assistance, and introduced the CIDCA’s work on promoting the implementation of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and cooperation progress with United Nations agencies and financial institutions. He said that the CIDCA is willing to strengthen exchanges and mutual visits with the WB, to explore pragmatic cooperation and jointly promote the implementation of the GDI and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Du Wei, deputy head of the CIDCA's Global Development Promotion Center Lei Pili, and WB Vice-President for the Europe and Central Asia region Antonella Bassani also attended the meeting.
