China provides police uniforms and supplies to Somalia

A ceremony marking the delivery of police uniforms and supplies from the Chinese government to Somalia was held on Sept 26. Chinese Ambassador to Somalia Wang Yu and Commander of the Somali Police Force Major General Sulub Ahmed Firin attended the event.

Wang said that China and Somalia are sincere friends that support each other. China actively supports Somalia in enhancing its capacity for independent development and counter-terrorism, and it has provided strong assistance in a wide range of fields, he said. This donation was made to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and to enrich the China-Somalia strategic partnership, he added. 

Firin thanked the Chinese government on behalf of the Somali government. He said that the police uniforms provided by China will play a significant role in the development of the Somali police force and that the Somali police are willing to continue to increase experience exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese police.
