Zhao Fengtao, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met on Sept 26 with Vice-President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Danny Alexander on the sidelines of the 9th AIIB Annual Meeting held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Zhao said that the AIIB was the first multilateral financing institute to sign a memorandum of understanding of cooperation with the CIDCA and has become an important partner of the CIDCA. The CIDCA is willing to further strengthen policy alignment and project cooperation with the AIIB, expand partnership and jointly advance the implementation of the Global Development Initiative and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, he said.
Alexander thanked the CIDCA for its support to the work of the AIIB in various fields. He said that the AIIB and the CIDCA are highly aligned in their concepts and that cooperation in various fields is progressing smoothly. The AIIB is willing to continue deepening its partnership with the CIDCA, diversify cooperation methods, and jointly promote more practical cooperation in various fields, he added.
The two sides also exchanged views on specific cooperation projects.
