CIDCA vice-chairman meets with Uzbekistan’s minister of investment, industry and trade

Zhao Fengtao, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), led a delegation to visit Uzbekistan, where they attended the 9th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in Samarkand, on Sept 26. On the sidelines of the meeting, Zhao met with Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov.

Zhao said that, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the China-Uzbekistan all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era has been developing steadily. Noting that Uzbekistan is an important partner of China in development cooperation, Zhao said China is ready to work with Uzbekistan to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries. Efforts will be made to strengthen the alignment of development strategies, advance landmark projects and "small-yet-smart" livelihood projects in a coordinated way, create new highlights in cooperation, expand new cooperation areas, and mobilize more development resources, to continuously deepen bilateral development cooperation, promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and implement the Global Development Initiative, while making new contributions to bilateral relations, he said.

Kudratov thanked China for its support for economic and social development of Uzbekistan, the improvement in people's standard of living and the general reform process. Uzbekistan is ready to jointly implement the key consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, further learn from China's development experiences, and expand the bilateral cooperation in development assistance in order to achieve common development and enhance mutual friendship, he said.

The two sides also discussed specific cooperation projects and signed an exchange of notes for a sewage treatment plant and sewage pipe network projects.

During his visit, Zhao also met with Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Maxsudov Jamol Tilloyevich, surveyed China-aided projects and projects in the Global Development Project Pool in Tashkent, and talked with representatives from the units undertaking the projects.
