Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Akihiko Tanaka in Beijing on Oct 24.
Luo welcomed Tanaka on his maiden visit to the CIDCA, saying that China and Japan are neighbors separated by a strip of water and that mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in international development serves the interests of the people of both countries as well as other developing countries, and is in line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The CIDCA is willing to work with the JICA to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen mutual visits of personnel and policy dialogue at all levels, support each other's development dialogue activities, explore trilateral and multilateral cooperation from easy to difficult and from small to large, and jointly promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative and the UN 2030 Agenda, Luo said.
Tanaka spoke highly of China's remarkable development achievements and contributions to international development cooperation, expressing a willingness to strengthen communication with China on policies and practices, enhance mutual understanding and explore international development cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
