CIDCA chairman meets with head of French Development Agency

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Chief Executive Officer of the French Development Agency (AFD) Remy Rioux in Beijing on Nov 26.

Luo congratulated Rioux on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the AFD office in China, which facilitates the agency's cooperation with the country, and gave a detailed introduction of the CIDCA’s responsibilities and progress in carrying out international development cooperation and implementing the Global Development Initiative (GDI). Noting that China and France, as major countries, share broad ambitions for international development cooperation, and have the capacity and responsibility to jointly promote global common development, Luo said the CIDCA is willing to engage in policy dialogue with the AFD, enhance institutional cooperation, and jointly advance the implementation of the GDI and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Rioux introduced the AFD's concepts, responsibilities and business priorities. He said that both sides share similar scenarios and common concerns in various fields such as climate change and development financing, and pledged to strengthen dialogue with the CIDCA and explore project cooperation in a bid to contribute to the realization of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
