The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held a seminar for African diplomats in Beijing on Nov 27. Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee Wang Dongfeng addressed the event, while Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency Luo Zhaohui, who is also a member of the CPPCC National Committee, delivered a speech.
Luo said that the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, which was held in September, reached a wide-ranging consensus between China and African countries. The summit sent a strong message of China-Africa unity, cooperation and development to the international community, opened a new chapter in China-Africa cooperation and marked an important milestone in the history of China-Africa relations, Luo noted.
Noting that China and Africa are each other's sincere friends and close partners, Luo said China has always remembered that it was its African friends who supported China’s return to the United Nations. African countries strongly uphold the one-China principle, acknowledge and join the community with a shared future for mankind, and actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and the three global initiatives proposed by China, he said. China will honor its commitments firmly, and follow the principles of no political conditions attached to development assistance cooperation, no imposition of its will on African countries, and no rubber checks, he added.
China will work with Africa to jointly implement the outcomes of the summit, and strengthen cooperation in various fields such as industrialization, agricultural modernization, talent fostering, medical and health care, connectivity, green development and people-to-people exchanges, he noted.
