CIDCA chairman meets with China representative of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Zheng Zhijie, director of the China Office of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, in Beijing on Dec 10.

Luo spoke highly of the outcomes of cooperation between the two sides in policy dialogue, the development of cooperation mechanisms and specific projects. He lauded the foundation's support to China's rural vitalization and pledged to proactively explore bilateral and trilateral cooperation with the foundation in areas of common interest, coordinate more cooperation resources, and jointly advance pragmatic cooperative projects, in a bid to jointly contribute to the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, the realization of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the enhancement of developing countries' development capacity.

Zheng thanked the CIDCA for its support to the foundation. He said that the foundation regards the CIDCA as an important cooperation partner and is willing to work with the agency to explore innovative cooperation models and further strengthen pragmatic cooperation in related fields.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges on cooperation matters for 2025.

Vice-Chairman of the CIDCA Zhao Fengtao, Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation Li Ming, deputy head of the CIDCA's Global Development Promotion Center Lei Pili, as well as deputy head of the Gates Foundation's China Office Lang Lin also attended the meeting.
