On Dec 15, Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations of Myanmar Kan Zaw in Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province. The latter was in Kunming to attend the third China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Blue Economy Development Cooperation.
Luo said that China and Myanmar are connected by mountains and rivers and enjoy brotherly friendship, and the Chinese president's visit to Myanmar in 2020 ushered in a new era of the China-Myanmar community with a shared future. The CIDCA is ready to further accelerate cooperation with Myanmar on pragmatic projects, continuously enhance the bilateral development cooperation, and push for more outcomes of Belt and Road cooperation and Global Development Initiative implementation in Myanmar, so as to better benefit the people in both countries, he added.
Kan thanked China for its long-term assistance to the economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods in his country, and pledged to continuously and closely work with China to deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields, promote common development and elevate bilateral relations to new heights.
The two sides also held thorough discussions on specific cooperation matters and signed related cooperation documents.
