The Chinese embassy in Sierra Leone hosted a gathering for the participants of China-aided training programs of 2024 on Dec 19. The event doubled as an award ceremony for an essay competition titled "My story with China". Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone Wang Qing and Sierra Leone's Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security Mohamed Rahman Swaray attended the event.
Wang extended warm regards to the trainees and congratulations to the winners of the essay competition. He said that human resource development cooperation is an important aspect of China's international development cooperation and has become a highlight of China-Sierra Leone cooperation in recent years. China is ready to deepen cooperation with Sierra Leone in areas such as human resources under the guidance of the China-proposed 10 partnership actions for China-Africa cooperation, and promote steady and sustainable pragmatic cooperation between the two countries, he said.
Swaray spoke highly of China's long-term support for talent cultivation in his country, and called on the trainees to maintain and inherit the friendship between the two countries with their own actions.
Over 200 people, including representatives of trainees and the essay competition winners, attended the event.
