Noting that Vanuatu suffered great loss as a result of the recent earthquake, Li said China, as a good friend and a good brother, empathized with Vanuatu. Consequently, it sent emergency relief supplies including tents, rollaway beds, water purification equipment, food and medical materials as a gesture of practical solidarity. China is ready to continue to provide post-disaster reconstruction assistance to the best of its ability, he added.

Salwai thanked China for its generous assistance, saying that China always extends a helping hand at critical moments, which reflects the deep friendship between the two countries. Vanuatu will make proper use of the supplies to ensure that they reach the affected people as soon as possible, he added.
