Since its launch in October, the second volume of the book Rose Stories Along the Belt and Road has been disseminated to nearly 100 countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), international organizations including United Nations development agencies, as well as universities and think tanks at home and abroad, receiving widespread acclaim.

Maldivian Ambassador to China Fazeel Najeeb said the book featured  multiple stories about cooperation projects between China and the Maldives since the country joined the BRI in 2014. It demonstrated that the Maldives is an important BRI partner and a friend of China, he said, adding that the title of the book showcased China's commitment to seeking progress for humanity and harmony for the entire world.

Theresa, a Malawian trainee in a China-aided training program at Tsinghua University, read the book in her spare time. She said she was impressed and touched by China's efforts, under the frameworks of the BRI and the Global Development Initiative (GDI), to improve the infrastructure of other developing countries and to provide intellectual and technical support, which have brought benefits to hundreds of millions of people. The book was nicely designed, making it appealing to readers, she said.

Adis, an Ethiopian student of a China-aided training program at the Communication University of China, expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for providing him with the opportunity to study in the country. He said that Rose Stories Along the Belt and Road is a strong testament to the invincible spirit of humanity and the concept of leaving no one behind in the pursuit of a better life. He will fully use his time in China not only to excel in his major studies, but also to build bridges of communication and understanding, striving to become a future leader who will disseminate the experiences and wisdom gained from China and write new chapters of "rose stories", he said.

During the sixth Asia-Pacific Directors General Forum for South-South and Triangular Cooperation hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok in November, the copies of the book displayed at the booth by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) were quickly snapped up. Participants at the forum found that QR codes have been printed on the back cover of the books, allowing them to listen to the audio version in both Chinese and English by scanning the code. China excels not only in aid projects but also in finding new promotion methods, which is something worth learning, they said.

The second volume of Rose Stories Along the Belt and Road was compiled by the CIDCA. It consists of seven chapters with 72 stories of China's foreign aid and international development cooperation in the process of serving high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and implementing the GDI.
