CIDCA chairman meets with new Vietnamese ambassador to China

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with newly-appointed Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh in Beijing on Jan 23. 

Noting that China and Vietnam are close socialist neighbors connected by mountains and waters, Luo said under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both parties and countries, China-Vietnam relations have maintained healthy and steady development. As this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Vietnam, Luo said the CIDCA is willing to work with the Vietnamese side to jointly implement the consensus reached between the leaders of both countries, focus on the six major goals of greater political mutual trust, more substantive security cooperation, deeper practical cooperation, more solid popular foundation, closer multilateral coordination and collaboration, and more proper management of differences, and constantly innovate cooperation methods. The two sides will deepen cooperation in such areas as infrastructure connectivity, social welfare, and human resources development, in a bid to elevate the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future to new stage, he added. 

Pham thanked China for its long-term support for the economic and social development and the improvement of living standards in Vietnam. He pledged to take the 75th anniversary as an opportunity to jointly implement the key consensus reached between the leaders of the two parties and nations, and advance pragmatic cooperation in various fields in order to benefit the people of both countries. 

The pair held thorough discussions on specific cooperation matters such as connectivity.

Directors-general of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Shou Hailong and Department of International Cooperation Li Ming, as well as Minister of the Vietnamese Embassy in China Ninh Thanh Cong, also attended the meeting.
