The China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) launched two reports on China's international development cooperation in "small-yet-smart" projects and green development in Beijing on Feb 11. Vice-Chairman of the CIDCA Hu Zhangliang addressed the event, while Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of Supervision and Evaluation Jiang Na gave a detailed introduction to the reports. Over 170 representatives from the Center for International Knowledge on Development (CIKD), related government departments, think tanks and international organizations in China, as well as foreign diplomats attended the event.
In his address, Hu said that through the international exchange platform of the International Development Cooperation: China's Practice, China has introduced its foreign aid philosophy, project status in relevant fields and evaluation results, which has deepened understanding and recognition of China’s foreign assistance and international development cooperation among friends from all walks of life in various countries.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the beginning of China's foreign assistance programs, he pointed out. Over the past 75 years, while creating its own development miracle, China has actively carried forward the spirit of internationalism and the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, provided assistance to other developing countries to the best of its ability, and played an important role in promoting the independence, development and revitalization of developing countries, he said. China has helped maintain world peace and stability, and promote international fairness and justice, contributing to building a community with a shared future for mankind, he said.
Deputy head of the CIKD Wang Jinzhao, ambassadors of Lesotho, Myanmar, Cuba, and Pakistan, and the representative of the United Nations World Food Programme in China delivered speeches, lauding China's remarkable achievements in carrying out "small-yet-smart" projects and green development assistance.
