CIDCA chairman meets with special advisor to president of Uzbekistan

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Sardor Umurzakov, the advisor on special assignments to the president of Uzbekistan, in Beijing on Feb 26.

Pointing out that Uzbekistan is China's first all-weather comprehensive strategic partner in the new era, Luo said bilateral relations have achieved high-quality development under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, yielding fruitful results in various fields.

In face of complex and turbulent international and regional situations, China is willing to closely coordinate with Uzbekistan to jointly implement the consensus reached between leaders of the two countries. By achieving more results in development cooperation, both sides aim to contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, and high-standard Belt and Road cooperation, thereby enhancing the well-being of the two peoples, he said.

Umurzakov said that Uzbekistan cherishes the strategic mutual trust between the two countries, and is ready to work with China to continuously strengthen the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, addressing global challenges and seizing historical opportunities. He also extended appreciation to China for its longstanding support for the economic and social development and improvement of people’s living standards in his country, and lauded the CIDCA’s work in international development cooperation. He pledged to work together with China to jointly implement the consensus between the two leaders, expand the breadth and depth of the Uzbekistan-China development assistance cooperation, and contribute more to the development of bilateral relations.

Uzbek Ambassador to China Farhod Arziev, directors-general of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Shou Hailong and Department of International Cooperation Li Ming, head of the CIDCA's Global Development Promotion Center Tang Ying, and deputy head of the Sixth Bureau of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Xu Qinxian also attended the meeting.
