CIDCA chairman meets with Pakistani ambassador to China

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Pakistan's Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi in Beijing on Feb 27.

Luo said that China and Pakistan boast an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, and the two countries have always trusted and supported each other. The recent meeting between the two heads of state has injected new momentum into the China-Pakistan ironclad friendship, he said. In recent years, the bilateral cooperation has yielded fruitful results in infrastructure, people’s welfare and human resource development, he said, adding that the CIDCA is ready to work with Pakistan to actively implement the consensus reached between the two heads of state, advance Belt and Road cooperation to a high standard and the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, and strive for a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future.

Hashmi said the Pakistan-China friendship has become ever stronger upon the joint efforts of several generations of leaders and people of the two countries. Pakistan appreciates China's long-term assistance and support to the economic and social development of the country, he said, lauding the CIDCA's active role in the process. He pledged to further deepen cooperation with China in various fields, jointly build an upgraded version of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and strive for more results from the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.

The two sides also held in-depth discussions on specific cooperation projects.

Vice-Chairman of the CIDCA Liu Junfeng, Director-General of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Shou Hailong, Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation Li Ming, and Economic Minister of the Pakistani Embassy in China Muhammad Aslam Chaudhary also attended the meeting.
