Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Vietnamese Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh in Beijing on March 24.

Luo said China and Vietnam enjoy a relationship featuring "camaraderie plus brotherhood", and are friendly socialist neighbors linked by mountains and waters. In recent years, the two countries have engaged in high-level exchanges, and the leaders of the two parties and countries have reached important consensus on promoting the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, he said. The CIDCA is ready to work with Vietnam's Ministry of Construction to speed up the construction of connectivity infrastructures such as cross-border railways and ports between the two countries, deepen practical cooperation in various fields and make new contributions to upgrading bilateral relations, he added.

Minh thanked China for its long-term support for the economic and social development and improvement in the living standards of the people of Vietnam. He pledged to strengthen mutually-beneficial cooperation with China in railway infrastructure and human resources development, jointly advance cross-border connectivity, and implement the key consensus reached between the leaders of the two parties and countries.

The two sides also held detailed discussions on related cross-border railway projects.
