CIDCA chairman meets with secretary general of ASEAN-China Centre

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Secretary General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Shi Zhongjun in Beijing on April 7.

Noting China's increased assistance to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Luo said the CIDCA is ready to support the ACC in playing its platform role and utilize the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund to conduct cooperation in areas such as personnel training and emergency humanitarian assistance under the framework of the Global Development Initiative (GDI). The agency will tailor-make development projects for ASEAN and its member countries in areas such as state governance, agricultural development and artificial intelligence, and explore ways to co-host international development cooperation activities, in a bid to make greater contributions to GDI implementation and the building of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, Luo added.

Shi said that, the ACC, as an inter-governmental international organization jointly established by China and ASEAN countries, is dedicated to promoting friendly exchanges and development cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, education, culture and tourism. The ACC hopes to strengthen its partnership with the CIDCA, deepen friendship with ASEAN countries, and promote regional peace and development, he added.

CIDCA Vice-Chairman Zhao Fengtao, directors-general of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation Li Ming and First Department of Regional Affairs Shou Hailong also attended the meeting.
