As part of its quake relief efforts, China sent a first batch of prefabricated houses for office use, along with supporting furniture and bathroom equipment, to Myanmar by sea on April 23. The 340 sets of houses are expected to arrive in Myanmar around May 6.
Another 160 sets of prefabricated houses for office use and 4,500 sets of such houses for residents' resettlement are scheduled to be shipped to Myanmar in three batches by sea, and expected to arrive around May 19. The houses will primarily be used to accommodate quake victims and support the functioning of the Myanmar government.
