Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Belarusian Minister of Economy Yuri Chebotar in Beijing on May 8.
Chen said China and Belarus are good friends and partners who share mutual trust. The CIDCA attaches great importance to development cooperation with the Belarusian side, and stands ready to jointly implement the important consensus reached between the two heads of state, and advance high-quality bilateral development cooperation focusing on the eight major areas under the Global Development Initiative (GDI), in a bid to contribute more to deepening the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, he said.
Chebotar thanked China for its long-term support for the economic and social development of Belarus. He pledged to continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation with China in various fields with full support for and participation in the GDI in order to better benefit both countries and their people.
The pair also discussed specific cooperation projects. CIDCA Vice-Chairman Liu Junfeng and directors-general of the First Department of Regional Affairs Shou Hailong and Department of International Cooperation Li Ming, as well as Belarusian Ambassador to China Aleksandr Chervyakov and Deputy Minister of Finance Lemekh Pavel also attended the meeting.
