Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with a Honduran delegation headed by Foreign Minister Eduardo Enrique Reina García in Beijing on May 14.
Saying that China and Honduras are good friends and partners treating each other as equals and pursuing mutual benefit and common development, Chen lauded Honduras' reaffirmation of its commitment to the one-China principle and said China stands firm to support Honduras in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence and efforts in self-development. The CIDCA attaches great importance to development cooperation with the Honduran side, he said, adding that the agency is ready to work with the country to implement the five major programs between China and the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries proposed by China at the just-concluded fourth ministerial meeting of the China-CELAC (the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Forum, jointly pursuing development and revitalization and building the China-LAC community with a shared future.
Reina thanked China for its support and assistance to the socioeconomic development of Honduras. He spoke highly of the fruitful outcomes achieved by the CIDCA and pledged to maintain close contact with the agency and deepen bilateral cooperation to benefit both countries and their people.
The two sides also held in-depth discussions on specific cooperation projects.
