The launch ceremony for a China-aided climate change adaptation project was held in Ulan Bator, capital of Mongolia, on May 26. Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Shen Minjuan, head of the East Asia Delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Olga Dzhumaeva, and Secretary General of the Mongolian Red Cross Society (MRCS) Bolormaa Nordov attended the event.
As the first climate change adaptation project in Northeast Asia to be sponsored by China's Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund, the project is jointly implemented by the China International Development Cooperation Agency, the IFRC and the MRCS.
The project focuses on climate change and green development, one of the eight key cooperation areas of the Global Development Initiative. It aims to enhance the climate resilience of vulnerable communities in Mongolia, address the increasingly severe climate crisis, and actively implement the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
