CIDCA chairman meets new Egyptian ambassador to China

Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with the newly-appointed Egyptian Ambassador to China Khaled Ahmed Farouk Nazmy, in Beijing on May 28.

Chen said that China and Egypt are comprehensive strategic partners whose bilateral relations have become a model for China-Arab, China-Africa relations and South-South cooperation. China is willing to work with Egypt to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, in order to promote Egypt's economic and social development, enhance bilateral relations, and bring more benefits to the people of both countries, he added.

Nazmy thanked China for its assistance in socioeconomic development and the improvement of people's livelihoods in his country. Egypt stands firm in supporting and participating in the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and Global Development Initiative, and is ready to work closely with the CIDCA to continue deepening pragmatic cooperation in development areas and strive for more outcomes, he said.

The two sides also discussed specific cooperation projects.
