Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, meets with Foreign Minister of Cote d'Ivoire Kacou Houaja Léon Adom in Changsha, Central China's Hunan province, on June 10.

Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, met respectively with Foreign Minister of Cote d'Ivoire Kacou Houaja Léon Adom and Foreign Minister of The Gambia Mamadou Tangara in Changsha, Central China's Hunan province, on June 10. The ministers are in Changsha to attend the Ministerial Meeting of Coordinators on the Implementation of the Follow-up Actions of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Chen said that in a turbulent international landscape where unilateralism and protectionism are making a comeback, the global governance deficit has continued to increase, and the bullying and high-handed acts of some countries have affected the world. The Global South, represented by China and Africa, has been continuously growing and expanding, and has become a key force in building a just and equitable global governance system. China is willing to enhance coordination on multilateral affairs with Africa, promote true multilateralism, and safeguard international fairness and justice, he added.

Noting that China and Cote d'Ivoire are good friends and partners with fruitful cooperation outcomes, and China and The Gambia have continued to deepen political mutual trust and sailed on smooth bilateral relations since the resumption of diplomatic relations, Chen said that China is willing to take this coordinators meeting as an opportunity to actively implement the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit, deepen pragmatic cooperation and strive to enrich the strategic partnerships with Cote d'Ivoire and The Gambia.

Adom and Tangara expressed their support for China in countering bullying acts and safeguarding its own and the Global South's common interests. They said they look forward to China continuing to play a leading role in advancing multi-polarity of the world and maintaining international fairness and justice. Cote d'Ivoire and The Gambia firmly adhere to the one-China principle and are willing to work with China to jointly implement the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit, in order to benefit their countries.
